The SCR-AD Series Refrigerated Air Dryer uses a cooling process to condense water vapor in compressed air into liquid droplets, which are then separated and discharged through a gas-water separator — reducing moisture in the compressed air system, preventing corrosion, extending the service life of downstream equipment, and maintaining consistently dry air quality.

SCR-AD Series Refrigerated Air Dryer

Key Features

  • Energy-saving — Adopts an integrated three-in-one aluminum alloy heat exchanger and enlarged pre-cooling reheater design, minimizing process loss of cooling capacity and enhancing cold energy recycling.
  • High efficiency — Flow guide fins inside the integrated heat exchanger ensure uniform heat exchange of compressed air, with a built-in gas-water separator fitted with a stainless steel filter screen.
  • Intelligent — Multi-channel temperature and pressure monitoring, real-time dew point display, automatic cumulative running time recording, compressor protection, and self-diagnosis with alarm code display.
  • Eco-friendly — In compliance with the Montreal Protocol, all models adopt environment-friendly refrigerants (R134a, R410A, R407C) with zero damage to the atmosphere.
  • Stable performance — Standardly equipped with a constant-pressure expansion valve and intelligent temperature controller. Laboratory-verified stable operation up to 65°C inlet air temperature and 42°C ambient temperature, with dual anti-freezing protection.

Working Principle

SCR-AD Refrigerated Air Dryer flow diagram

  1. Cooling Process — Heat exchange between refrigerant and compressed air cools the compressed air below the dew point temperature (typically 2–10°C) inside the evaporator.
  2. Condensation and Drainage — As the temperature drops, internal water vapor condenses into liquid droplets, which are discharged through the automatic drainage system.
  3. Function of Heat Exchanger — The precooler removes part of the moisture in advance; the cold-hot air heat exchanger improves energy utilization efficiency.
  4. Prevention of Secondary Condensation — Downstream pipeline temperature is kept above the dew point at the evaporator outlet to avoid secondary condensation.
